Rooster Comb Mountain
General Information
If you’re looking for an introductory winter experience, Rooster Comb is your mountain! The first peak in the Great Range, the summit of Rooster Comb opens up to expansive views of the neighboring high peaks. Though not a high peak itself, the 1,556-foot climb to Rooster Comb provides a close-up view of Lower Wolf Jaw and Mt. Marcy.
This relatively easy hike is filled with amazing trail features – a gnarly root-and-rock formation, a steep trail ladder, and several spectacular overlooks. The 4.2-mile march is a short adventure that will take you through a gorgeous landscape and still get you home in time for dinner!
Join us and be led by experienced trail guides who will make this an enjoyable and memorable excursion. We have winter equipment available for rent on a first come, first serve basis: snowshoes, poles, micro-spikes, and crampons. Contact us to reserve your gear today.
